A Taste of Osaka

“Japan’s kitchen”

As we prepare to open our upcoming exhibition in Osaka on April 17th, it feels only natural to celebrate not just the art of the city, but also its extraordinary culinary culture.

Known as “Japan’s kitchen” ,Osaka offers a vibrant street food scene that reflects the same creativity and warmth found in its artistic spirit.

takoyaki

No trip to Osaka is complete without takoyaki.

These iconic octopus balls, crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, are a masterclass in street food.

Finished with savory sauce and fluttering bonito flakes, they perfectly capture the city’s bold, unpretentious, and utterly delicious food culture.

okonomiyaki

Just as iconic is okonomiyaki, a hearty savory pancake customized with everything from tender pork to melted cheese.

This dish celebrates the spirit of individual choice. It is a culinary form of self-expression that aligns perfectly with the creative exploration at the heart of our gallery.

kushikatsu

For a taste of Osaka’s spirited dining scene, one must try kushikatsu.

These crisp, deep-fried skewers of everything from succulent pork to seasonal vegetables are designed for sharing. They embody the city’s unpretentious and social food culture, as long as you follow the local rule: no double dipping!

As you immerse yourself in this exhibition, we invite you to equally savor the iconic flavors of the city. In Osaka, art transcends the gallery walls, it is alive in every shared bite, found amidst the bustling streets and gathered around every welcoming table.
